Commissioned by Walgreens for a public-facing corridor at Penn Station in New York City, this large-scale mural offers a dynamic bird’s-eye view of the East River. The composition features the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan, with abstracted buildings, layered city traffic, and key icons of urban motion: a cargo ship, the Staten Island Ferry, and a helicopter overhead.
While Walgreens initially requested a prominently placed logo, I proposed integrating multiple smaller Walgreens logos into the billboards atop the buildings. This approach preserved the visual integrity of the cityscape while making the branding feel natural and proportionate within the urban narrative.
